Getting Started
Safety & Security
Do you use student photos or recordings?
We will only use photos or recordings of children whose parents have signed a Media Consent Form. Participation in our marketing materials is always optional.
How is my child’s data protected?
We never share your or your child’s personal data and follow strict data protection policies.
  • Yes! Our platforms are secure and monitored.
  • Our teachers have passed background checks and rigorous screening.
  • All parent communication is done via official channels such as WeChat or email.
Is online learning safe?
Scheduling & Payments
Can I cancel or reschedule?
  • Group classes: These classes follow a fixed schedule. Any missed classes cannot be cancelled, rescheduled, or refunded.
  • Private classes: These classes may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours notice and must be used within 30 days.
  • Students who arrive late (15 minutes or more)to class will be considered “no-shows” and their class will be cancelled with no refund.
How do payments work?
  • Full payment is required to confirm registration.
  • All fees are non-refundable.
  • Discounted rates are available for small-group classes, referrals, and returning students.
  • Get your child to complete our placement test.
  • Tell us your preferred class type (small-group or individual classes).
  • Coordinate with one of our administrators to develop and finalize a class schedule for your child.
  • Pay for lessons and class materials through a secure payment link.
How do I register?
Progress, Homework & Feedback
What happens when my child finishes a level?
When your child finishes one of our levels:
  • You will receive a progress summary and level recommendation
  • Your child will receive priority placement when enrolling as a returning student
Do you provide homework?
We offer homework for students to complete after each lesson that reinforces learning through fun activities and games to do with family. Our homework activities are entirely optional for students and will not be reviewed by a teacher for feedback.
We believe in keeping parents informed every step of the way. We offer:
  • Progress updates from teachers
  • Pre and post assessments
  • Check-ins with teachers available upon request
How will I know if my child is improving?
How will we receive feedback from teachers?
You can receive feedback from your child’s teacher in several ways:
  • Class summaries with learning recommendations after every class
  • Parent-teacher progress check-ins for an extra fee
  • Progress reports after the completion of each level for long-term tracking.
How Online Classes Work
What if we have technical issues?
Our teachers are trained to troubleshoot common tech issues. If needed, a backup platform (e.g., WeChat) may be used.
What technology do we need to take classes?
You will need:
  • A computer or tablet with a camera and microphone
  • Stable internet connection
  • Headphones (optional for better audio)
  • Access to a printer to print the activities and homework

Before your first class, we will provide setup instructions and tech support if needed.
How do online classes work?
All sessions are held in a secure virtual classroom featuring:
  • Live video instruction
  • A shared digital whiteboard
  • Screen-sharing and collaboration tools

Our online lessons are engaging and interactive - full of fun visuals, stories, and hands-on activities. To accompany our lessons, we provide each child with an activity booklet that enables them to do activities and tasks at their own desk. We also provide optional homework for students to complete after each lesson to help solidify their learning.
Our teachers are certified educators with advanced degrees in education and extensive experience teaching international students. They specialize in literacy development and are trained in research-based teaching strategies to ensure high-quality instruction.

Yes! All Dragonfly Education teachers undergo a rigorous screening process, including:
  • Education verification

  • Background checks and/or current criminal record clearance
Are your teachers qualitified in their subjects?
Can I request a specific teacher?
We carefully match students with teachers based on their learning needs. If your child connects well with one of our teachers, you may request them for future sessions, subject to availability.

How do I know which class is right for my child?
We offer a free placement assessment to recommend the most appropriate level and class type for your child.
What types of classes do you offer?
We offer two structured learning options:
Small-group classes (Best Value!):
  • Small-group (2-5 students) sessions that foster collaboration and confidence.
  • Individual classes: Personalized, 1-on-1 instruction with a fixed or flexible schedule, for students who prefer focused attention and a customized learning plan.
What are your learning levels and how do they progress?
Our program has 5 levels of learning:
  • Seeds (Beginners)
  • Sprouts (Beginners/Intermediate)
  • Buds (Intermediate)
  • Blossoms (Intermediate/Advanced)
  • Flowers (Advanced)
Each one of our levels consist of 12 intensive classes that include homework and hands-on learning materials for your child. These classes are taken on a fixed schedule to ensure learning structure, consistency, and progress.

Is my child too young for online learning?
We welcome students aged 6+ with age-appropriate instruction and optional parental support.
How does online learning build student-teacher relationships?
Students feel comfortable learning from home and in a relaxed setting. Our teachers provide personalized support and encouragement, ensuring a strong learning connection.
Yes! Our research-based methods include:

Do students stay engaged online?
How do you manage handwriting activities in an online class?
We combine digital and traditional methods to teach, practice, and reinforce handwriting skills. In our lessons, students do a combination of the following:
  • Digital and hands-on writing activities during the lesson
  • Optional homework activities to complete after the lesson (homework is optional and not submitted for teacher review)
